About

At Robert Bycroft School, we believe each individual we serve has the right to excellent educational services that will enable them to develop the skills needed to be active members in their communities and to be as independent as possible in their daily lives. We provide comprehensive school-age services to children with developmental disabilities in Columbiana County. These services are provided to students in kindergarten through 12th grade who meet the necessary eligibility requirements. The school-age program focuses on instruction in the areas of academics, social interaction, functional life skills, positive behavior strategies, and vocational preparation. Daily instruction is provided by certified intervention specialists in a modified curriculum aligned to the Ohio Learning Standards – Extended, with a focus on each students Individual Education Program (IEP).

Students are also provided with a number of related services including speech therapy, physical therapy, and occupational therapy based upon their needs as determined in the IEP. Students benefit from the use of our Snoezelen room, which provides sensory stimulation and relaxation to students with visual, auditory, and tactile needs. All students participate in physical education bi-weekly. A licensed nurse is available at all times to ensure that the medical needs of each and every student are addressed.

If you or someone you know have a child with a disability and are interested in learning more about Robert Bycroft School, or have questions regarding special education services in general, we encourage you to call the school at (330) 424-7787.
